Ecological themes:
21st Tokyo International Film Festival
21st Tokyo International Film Festival
Japan's only international film festival, which commenced in 1985, will enjoy its 21st incarnation for 21 days starting October 18. Aside from its regular program, the 21st festival also introduces the new "Natural TIFF supported by TOYOTA" section to host films on ecological themes.
Both old and new films on the topic of global environment and coexistence with nature will be screened. Accordingly, the premiere venue at Keyazaka-dori in Roppongi Hills will feature a green carpet instead of the usual red. This "green road," made from recycled PET bottles, will demonstrate humanity's ability to coexist with nature. Electricity for screening all films at the festival will be produced via solar and wind power. It is expected that enough energy to power 3200 normal households for a day will be saved. This fall, why not enjoy your own encounter with art and ecology?
